Mary Elizabeth Todd

Marian Elizabeth Todd, age 88, of Mesquite TX, passed away on Friday, July 27th, 2018. Marian was born to Casey Clemons and Carolyn Clemons on May 20, 1930. Marian attended Catonsville High School in Baltimore, MD, where she graduated as Valedictorian, and was a member of the Volleyball team that won the state title her senior year. She also volunteered for the Red Cross and was active in many student organizations. Marian moved to New York City after graduation and worked as an executive assistant. She met and married Harold B. Kathman in 1953 and settled on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, near Harmony, MD, to raise her family. Harold Kathman passed away in May of 1962. Marian continued to work and raise her three sons. In 1971, she married Norman W. Todd. They were happily married for 41 years. Marian continued to work as an executive assistant throughout her life. She loved playing the piano, reading, swimming, gardening and cooking. She was a giving and fun person who loved to laugh and spend time with her family. In her later years in life, Marian relocated to Mesquite, TX, and was active in her senior community, including leading prayer services on Wednesday nights. Marian is survived by her two sons, Guy C. Kathman and his wife Cathy, and Robert H. Kathman and his wife Patty Sherman; stepsons, Mark Todd and his wife Tammy, Chris Todd and his wife Veronica, Mike Todd and his wife Cheryl; stepdaughter, Nan Todd-Smethurst and her husband Steve; her two brothers, Donald Clemons and his wife Gesila, and Tom Clemons; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews. All were dear to her heart. Marian is preceded in death by her parents, Casey and Carolyn Clemons; her brother, Garland Clemons; her son, Christopher R. Kathman, and her husband, Norman W. Todd. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 1 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newman Funeral Home, 200 South Harrison Street, Easton, MD 21601. he Urn Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Spring Hill Cemetery, 123 North St. Easton MD, 21601. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Marian over the last three months of her life at the Willow Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation Home and Bradfield Place in Mesquite, TX
