Louis Richard Biosca

Louis Richard Biosca, of Saint Michaels, MD, died on Saturday January 12, 2013, from complications of diabetes and cancer. He was born in Teaneck, NJ, and was raised in Silver Spring, MD. He was the eldest son of the late Louis Francis Biosca and Celia Phyllis Zdanowicz Biosca. He attended Archbishop John Carroll High School in Washington DC, and graduated with the Class of 1958. He attended the University of Maryland where he earned his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. Lou entered the U.S. Navy, and during two tours of duty, Flew F-4B Phantom jets aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVA(N)-65) stationed off of the coast of Vietnam. After his service to his country, he returned to complete his education in Electrical Engineering with the University of Maryland, and earned a M.S. degree in 1968. His career path led him to join the staff of Sach/Freeman Associates Inc., of Landover MD, where he advanced to become Executive Vice-President. He retired in 1989, but remained on the Board of Directors. He married G. Ann Leggett. They began their life together in Bowie, MD, and later moved to the shores of Saint Michaels where they have lived for 16 years. He is survived by his wife Ann of 22 years; his granddaughter, Ashlee R. Leggett; stepson, Scott Leggett, and his wife Susan, and their son Shane; stepson, Brandon of Berryville, VA, Pamela L. Pynes and children Brianna and Dylan, of Hopehall, AL; daughter of wife Ann Biosca. His brother; Dr. Roderick F. Biosca and his wife Elizabeth, of Johnson City, TN; two sisters, Romualda McRorie of Frederick, MD, and Cecilia C. Biosca, of Colville, WA; his nephew, Dr. Roderick F. Biosca and his wife Hannah and their children Roderick F., III, and Mary Grace, of Abingdon, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was a devoted and supportive husband and father. He was a great friend, teacher, and mentor. He was generous with his friends and chosen charities. He loved watching sports, traveling, hunting, fly fishing, and scuba diving. He was a member of the VFW Post #5118, Elks Lodge #1622, and The American Legion Post #70, all in Easton. He was 72 years of age. Harrison St., Easton, MD 21601. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park near Easton.
