Linda Faye Archer

Linda Faye Archer, beloved wife of 53 years to the late Earl Russell Archer Jr., passed on January 29th, 2024. Linda is survived by her cherished children: Russell B. Archer and wife Cyndi, Glenda L. Denny and husband Randy, Daniel B. Archer and wife Karen, and the late Robin L. Shives. Linda was a loving grandmother to Joshua Denny, Courtney Denny-Colvin and husband Daniel, Clara Thomas and husband James, Samantha Hutchison and husband Darcy, Jordan M. Deaver, Kayla Abner and husband Justin, and Taylor M. Archer. Her legacy further extends to her great-grandchildren Abbi, McKenzie, Renee, George, John, J.T., Odin, Allani, Azaiah, Lauryn, Londyn, Nygel, Cameron, Wesley, Tatum, and Turner. Linda is also survived by her dear siblings Melvin B. Howell and his wife Gisela and Douglas W. Howell and his wife Linda. She is predeceased by her siblings June H. Johnson, Paul R. Howell, and David Howell. Linda's warm heart extended beyond her human family to include her beloved pet cats Coco and Zoe. Her love for animals was evident in her care for birds, the fish in her pond, and her special attention to the squirrels she lovingly fed. Linda touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. A dedicated professional, Linda served as a school bus driver for Anne Arundel County for numerous years, ensuring the safe transportation of countless children. She later continued her commitment to the community by driving for the Department of Aging, helping seniors maintain their independence. For 25 years, Linda was a valued employee of Homestead Gardens, where her green thumb and passion for plants shone through. Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from tending to her garden and birdwatching to camping and spending time at the beach. Her adventurous spirit extended to the thrill of drag races. Above all, Linda treasured moments spent with her family, and her love for them knew no bounds. Family will receive visitors on Friday, February 23 from 12-1 PM with a memorial service celebrating Linda's life beginning at 1 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home located at 106 Shamrock Road, Chester, MD 21619. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any animal charity of your choice, in honor of Linda's deep affection for all creatures great and small. Linda Faye Archer's memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and her legacy of love, compassion, and joy will be cherished by family and friends alike.
