Lester Woodall

Lester Roche Woodall of Grasonville, MD, formerly of Edgewater, MD, passed away on April 7, 2007 at Easton Memorial Hospital, Easton, MD following a lengthy illness. He was 83. Lester Woodall was born on July 31, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Lester Woodall, Sr and Marion Robinson Woodall. He graduated from Cheltenham High School, Cheltenham, PA. After graduation he served in the Army Air Force during World War II in the Pacific Arena, mainly the Philippines. In 1947, he married the late Alberta Marie Walton and they were married for over thirty years. Mr. Woodall attended night school and received an Associates of Technology degree from Temple University in 1956. He worked for AT & T for thirty years in Philadelphia, PA, Wayne, PA, Washington, DC, and Oakton, VA and sold real estate for Sy Bishop in Annapolis, MD. After retirement he worked for Hilly’s Garden Center and Robins Nest Gardening Center. Mr. Woodall enjoyed watching sports and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins and Maryland Terrapins basketball team. He enjoyed his children, grandchildren, bowling and was especially interested in current events. He also enjoyed gardening and birdwatching. Mr. Woodall is survived by his daughter, Linda Woodall; two sons, John Woodall and his wife Stephanie of Edgewater, MD; Steven Woodall and his wife Kellie of Grasonville, MD; four grandchildren Diana, Caroline and Nicholas Woodall of Edgewater, MD and Kelsey Woodall of Grasonville, MD. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A.,106 Shamrock Road, Chester, MD 21619.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11am at the funeral home. Internment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to Queen Anne’s County Hospice, 300 Del Rhodes Avenue, Queenstown, MD 21658 and American Cancer Society, Mid-Atlantic Division, 92 Read’s Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
