Lauren Ann Wade

It is with great sadness that the family of Lauren Ann Wade announces her passing after her long, hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. She passed on September 13th, 2024. Laurie, as she was affectionately known, was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, friend, and above all a fiercely devoted mother and grandmother. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and two granddaughters. Laurie was born in Easton, Maryland on July 9th, 1962 to Donald Everett Marvel and Carol Ann Sallada. Laurie went on to attend Talbot County Public Schools and graduated from Easton High School in 1980. She then attended and graduated from Salisbury University in 1987 with a BSN. She worked as a nurse first at Anne Arundel and then spent 35 years working at Easton Memorial Hospital. Laurie made many dear friends while working there. Laurie’s greatest joy was raising her children. She especially loved supporting them during their athletic endeavors. She never missed a field hockey game or a wrestling match. Laurie was endlessly proud of all her children’s accomplishments. Those closest to her knew there were few places she’d rather be than cheering on her boys mat-side at a wrestling tournament. The family she was a part of through the Easton High School Wrestling team and both of her son’s collegiate wrestling careers, lasted long past her son’s graduations. Few mothers poured their heart into the sport like she did. Laurie’s most treasured title she held found her later in life. She was known and loved as Lolly to her two granddaughters Charleigh and Maggie. Lolly and her girls filled their days with tea parties, playing at the park, and exploring the woods. Laurie is preceded in death by her father Donald Marvel. She is survived by her husband Robert Wade; son Matt Wade; daughter Emma Harrison, her husband Brooks Harrison, and their daughters Charleigh and Maggie; son Drew Wade; brother Chris Marvel and his family; and mother Carol Ann Marvel. The celebration of life will be held at the Elks Club in Easton Maryland on Thursday September 26th from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service will be held for family and close friends earlier in the day.
