Joseph Russo

Joseph J. Russo, 67, of Easton, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his wife of 43 years at his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Newburgh, NY for many years before moving to Hamilton, NJ and then to Maryland. Mr. Russo was a graduate of Brooklyn Tech and attended Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY. He was a senior food technician with Kraft General Foods in Tarrytown, NY, retiring after 30 years of service. During his years with Kraft, he worked on many new products and received numerous awards and patents. Mr. Russo was a member of the Osiris Country Club in NY, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Parish in Easton, MD, and the Easton Club in Maryland. He was an avid golfer and card player. The Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks will be losing one of their greatest fans, as he loved them all. Predeceased by his father Paul Russo, he is survived by his mother, Minnie Russo of Nanuet, NY; his wife, Ann Russo of Easton, MD; and their children, Kim Russo and Mary Hile of Yonkers, NY Paul Russo of NY, NY and Lori and Brian Klabbatz, Jr. of Hamilton, NJ; his grandson, “The Prince”, Brian D. Klabbatz III; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rosemarie Esposito and Linda and John Galpin; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul Russo and Diane Dougherty; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 11AM at Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, 3816 East State Street Extension, Mercerville, NJ 08619. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A., Easton, MD The family has requested no flowers at all due to Mrs. Russo’s severe allergies. Your cooperation in appreciated.
