Jean Grant Ainsworth

Jean Grant Ainsworth of Easton, MD went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Memorial Hospital at Easton. She was 79. Born March 5, 1929 in Easton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Morris Bramble. In 1946 she graduated from Easton High School. She was a clerical bookkeeper for most of her working life, for Neatons Tire Center and then Dr. Robert Smoloski until her health prevented her from working. On January 1, 1951 she married Paul F. Grant. Mr. Grant died in July 1974. She then in 1975 married Harry Ainsworth who died in 1998. She was a member of the Bethlehem Wesleyan Church. A lifelong resident of Easton, she was a member of the Easton Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, E. E. Streets Memorial Post #5118 V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies of the B.P.O. Easton Elks Lodge #1622 where she had served as President for two terms, Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 70, and volunteered with the American Cancer Society Fund Raising Campaign. She loved baseball, and as an avid fan of the Orioles she loved to watch their games. A loving mother and grandmother who cared for others above herself, she will be loved and missed by her many family members and friends. Mrs. Ainsworth is survived by three children, Gregory Paul Grant and his wife Terri of Easton, Jennifer Grant Harrison and her husband Skip of Preston, and Jeffrey Morris Grant and his wife Caren of Federalsburg; three step-children, Lynn C. Whiteley, Rocky Ainsworth, and Gary Ainsworth; three sisters, Ethel Hunt of Hurlock, Barbara Wagner of Easton, and Faye Gadow of Preston; a brother, Harry Bramble of Easton; five grandchildren, Samuel Clark Harrison IV, Grant Dale Harrison, Ashlee Lee Grant, Stefanie Nicole Grant, and Zachary Grant; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Harrison; and a brother, Homer Bramble. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Bethlehem Wesleyan Church, Bethlehem, MD. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, MD. Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Easton, MD. Serving as pallbearers are Clark Harrison, Grant Harrison, Aaron Saulsbury, Gary Bramble, Steve Gadow, and Jason Willey.
