Jay Clement Davidson

Jay Clement Davidson of Centreville, MD passed away at his home on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023. He was 38 years old. Jay was born Nov. 16, 1985 in Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE the son of Jay David and Linda “Paulson” Davidson. He attended Capitol Baptist School in Dover, DE graduating in 2003. After high school he went to work for Simplex Grinnell and also Advantech installing security and other electronic systems. In September 2007 he attended the Delaware State Police Academy as a municipal officer, graduating in early 2008. He worked for several agencies in the state of Delaware, the last being the Newport Police Department. During his time in Newport he was assigned as a K9 officer and he and his dog Tango became certified through the National Police Canine Association. He and Tango became well known and were called upon on numerous occasions to assist allied agencies throughout Delaware as well as being requested by agencies in Pennsylvania. Most recently he worked for Raymond Harrison installing and servicing septic systems and by Audible Lines, LLC constructing rumble strips on highways in several states. He was an avid archer and shot competitively for many years, traveling the East Coast to compete. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed restoring trucks and most especially enjoyed duck hunting and deer hunting, taking many trophy sized deer. Even though he returned to private business he continued to make his expertise available to active K9 officers. He was preceded in death by one brother, Josiah Gale as well as grandparents, Clem and Dorothy Davidson and David Paulson. He is survived by his wife, Katharine Davidson of Centreville, MD, his children, Josey Elaine Davidson of Centreville, MD, Jay Wyatt “J.W.” Davidson of Centreville, MD, Avery Olivia Davidson of Georgetown, DE, his parents, Jay and Linda Davidson of Millington, MD, his sister, Jayme Lin Stoltzfus (David) his brother, Jacob R. Davidson (April) and 9 nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Frid, Dec. 1, 2023 from 6-8pm at the Chestertown Baptist Church 401 Morgnec Rd Chestertown, MD and also from 11am-12pm on Sat. Dec. 2, 2023. Services will be held on Sat. Dec 2, 2023 at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery.
