Ida Peterson Hardon

Ida Peterson Hardon, 33, loving wife of Michael Hardon and daughter of Louise and Ted Peterson, was born on March 29, 1991, in Washington, DC. She died peacefully on May 13, 2024, in her parents’ home in Oxford, Maryland surrounded by the love and care of her devoted family. Ida is survived in life by her beloved husband, Mike Hardon, her mother and father Louise and Ted Peterson, brothers Teddy (Laura) and Grigs (Whitney), grandmother Sally Holland, in-laws Claire and Clay Hardon, aunts, uncles, sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her adoring Labradoodle, Mac. Ida spent her childhood in Bexley, Ohio and moved in middle school to McLean, Virginia where she attended Langley High School. She went on to Roanoke College, where she met the love of her life, Mike. Introduced by Ida's grandmother and Mike’s aunt, they shared a glance in the Roanoke cafeteria during the first week of classes that sparked a 15-year courtship and marriage. After college, Ida and Mike went on to build a beautiful life together in New York City. Ida pursued a career at EY and was a passionate member and fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Mostly though, Ida’s time and energy was spent loving life, having fun, and giving herself completely to her friends and family. Ida’s light was vibrant and contagious. As beautiful as she was joyful, her confidence and magnetic energy made everyone around her feel at ease, comfortable and special. It was a gift that strangers, friends, and family alike were blessed to know, and will be deeply missed. Her life was defined by kindness and selflessness in friendship and in family. She was, and is, irreplaceable. A celebration of Ida's life will take place on Tuesday May 21st, at 2:00 PM at Church of the Redeemer in Baltimore, Maryland. Interment will be private at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Maryland. Per Ida’s request, she encourages everyone to channel her fashionista style by wearing colorful outfits at the celebration of her life. Throughout Ida’s cancer journey she always remained hopeful. With her positive attitude and outgoing personality she inspired so many other cancer patients, care workers, nurses and doctors. She and Mike would like for her legacy to be helpful to others with AML.
