Harold Thomas O'Neal Sr.

Harold Thomas O’Neal, Sr., of Elkton, MD, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilmington, DE. He was 82. Harold T. O’Neal, Sr. was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Earleville, MD, the son of the late Bradford Walter O’Neal and Anna Louise “Pearce” O’Neal. Mr. O’Neal was in the first graduating class of Bohemia Manor High School. In 1959, he started working for Hardesty Plumbing, He then went to work for Burges Inc. from 1960-1963 before entering into the United States Army. Mr. O’Neal served his country for two years before being honorably discharged. After returning home, he continued working for Burges Inc. In 1972, he went into business for himself. He then helped start H and B Plumbing where the business operated from 1982-1987 before changing back to O’Neal Plumbing and continued to operate until 1994. Mr. O’Neal then became the Cecil County Plumbing Inspector until he retired in 2009. Mr. O’Neal was a member of American Legion Post 15 in Elkton, MD, Moose Lodge 51, Cecil County Master Plumbing Association, and the Cecil County Farm Museum and Regional Agricultural Center. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, antique tractor pulling, camping and anything related to Farmall tractors. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kerry A. Stoutenburgh, one brother, Earl Nicholas O’Neal, and his wife, Virginia O’Neal. He is survived by one son, Harold T. O’Neal, Jr. of Elkton, MD; two daughters, Wendy O’Neal Stoutenburgh (Donald) of Kingston, NY, and Terri Allen of Elkton, MD; one sister, Yvonne Eckman of Lancaster, PA; two brothers, Walter O’Neal (Glenda) of Earleville, MD, and Bradford O’Neal (Judith) of Lancaster, PA; one sister-in-law, Wilma O’Neal of Smyrna, DE; a companion, Carol Taylor, of Millington, MD; a stepson, Mike Nabb of Smyrna, DE; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren. A visitation will be held Monday, October 17, 2022, from 11am-1pm at Fellows Family Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, MD 21651. Services will begin at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Galena Cemetery in Galena, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Kerry A.
