H.A. Trego

Herman Alvin "Bud" Trego Jr. of Rock Hall, MD died on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at his home. He was 59. Born on High Street in Chestertown, Maryland during a blizzard on December 26, 1948, he was the son of the late, Herman A. Sr. and Florence M. Coleman Trego. He attended school in Rock Hall and was drafted to the US Army to serve during Vietnam stateside in data processing. Following an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army he lived in Pennsylvania until 1981 when he moved back home to Rock Hall, MD. In September of 1982 he married Melanie Jacquette and they resided in Rock Hall. Buddy worked as Director of Data Processing with Chesapeake College, and then took a position as IT Administrator with Aspen Institute where he worked until December of 2007. He also worked on weekends with the Rock Hall Marine Railway. He was a member of Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post #228, acting commander of the Sons of the American Legion, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, and Past President of Rock Hall Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, antiques and old time country music. He loved being with his family and friends. He is predeceased in death by one brother, William Earl Trego. In addition to his wife of 25 years, Mr. Trego is survived by three brothers, Charles Trego and wife, Jen of Columbus, OH, J.R. Trego and wife, Donna of Rock Hall, MD, and Moody Trego of Rock Hall, MD; two sisters, Jo Ellen Wyer and her husband, Robin of Columbus, OH and Eden Mcgourty and her husband, Francis of Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, Route #20, Rock Hall, MD, friends may also call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church (12:00-1:00). Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Rock Hall Vol. Fire Company Building Fund, P.O. Box 577, Rock Hall, MD 21661 or to the Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Building Fund, P.O. Box 207, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
