Geneva Lee Moyer

Chester, MD: Evangelist Geneva Lee Moyer of Chester, MD was called home to glory on December 26, 2005. She was 52. Born in Martinsville, VA on September 14, 1953, she is the daughter of William and Juanita Brayboy. The Lord miraculously saved her at the age of 15 while she was attending the Readfield Church of God, in Readfield, ME. She attended and graduated from Winthrop High School and the Augusta Maine Business Institute where she studied Business Administration. Evangelist Moyer has obtained a Diploma of Ministry, Bachelor of Christian Ministry Degree and a Master of Ministry Degree from the Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary. She was attending the Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary and was a candidate for her Doctorate of Religious Education and Doctorate in Christian Counseling. She has had additional studies through Church of God Ministerial Internship, Lee College, Church of God School of Theology of Cleveland TN and the Anne Arundel Community College. Evangelist Moyer was a Professor in Bible for the Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary along with being a Campus Director of Rhema Word Kent Island Campus in Chester, MD. She also served as the Church of God Eastern Shore Harvest of Love Fellowship Secretary and Chairperson for the Scholarship Committee. Evangelist Moyer and her husband Rev. Jessie B. Moyer have pastor at Kent Island Church of God in Grasonville, MD for the last 22 years. Before moving to Kent Island they were pastors of two other churches, Munjoy Hill Church of God in Portland, Maine and Mount Calvary Church of God in Martinsville, VA. She strongly acknowledged that it is such a privilege to have the calling of God on her life. Because of God, and God alone she has accomplished these goals. Along with being survived by her parents and husband, she has a daughter Monica Patrice Moyer and her future husband Gabriel Butler; 1 son, Jesse Bennett Moyer II and his wife Clarice; blessed with 4 grandchildren, Najae, L.J., Michaela and Christian. Family and friends may call at Kent Island Church of God, 230 Hess Road, Grasonville, Maryland from 6:00-7:30pm where a praise and remembrance service will be held on Friday, December 30 from 7:30 to 10:30pm. The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 31 at 11:00am at Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church, 931 Love Point Road, Stevensville, Maryland 21666.
