Gene H. Terris

Eugene Henry Terris of Wye Mills, MD died at his home on Sunday, November 15, 2009. He was 69. Born May 6, 1940 in Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late, Eugene Henry Terris Sr. and Virginia Watson Terris. On June 17, 1961 he married the former, Dolores Naomi Austin of Chester, MD. They raised their family in Wye Mills, MD. Mr. Terris drove a truck for many companies, including, Southern States. In recent years he worked for NAPA Auto Parts in Grasonville, MD as a delivery man. He was a member of the LakeView Fellowship Church of God. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was well known for his spaghetti sauce. He loved people, gave the best bear hugs and had the “gift to gab”. In addition to his wife, Mr. Terris is survived by three sons, Bruce Eugene Terris of Charlestown, WV, Roger Glenn Usilton of Wye Mills, MD and Larry Grant Usilton of Queenstown, MD; two daughters, Serina Marie Terris-Mata of Hurlock, MD and Deborah Lynn McAllister of Hurlock, MD; four sisters, Rose Marie Paul of Finksburg, MD, Deloris Ibonez of Hampstead, MD, Cora Adams of Baltimore, MD and Veronica Terris of San Diego, CA; a brother, Nick Watson of Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren, Devin Michael Terris, Bruce Eugene Terris, Jr., Miguel Mata, Alejandro Carlos Mata, Tammy Sue Stouffer, Roger Glenn Usilton, JR, Grant Usilton, Larry Grant Usilton, Jr. and Melissa Lee Jump and three great grandchildren, Celsea Usilton, Sean Stouffer and Brandon Stouffer. He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Justin Michael Terris. Funeral services will be held at the Lake View Fellowship Church of God, Grasonville, MD on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM. Friends and family may call at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A., 408 South Liberty Street, Centreville, MD on Wednesday, November 18 from 6 – 8 PM and also from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Thursday at the church before the funeral service. Burial will be at Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville, MD.
