Obituary for Faye E. Williams Faye Ellen Williams, 84, of Sudlersville, Maryland, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 4, 2025. Born on October 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Foster Ashton Smith and Sarah Verona "Sadie" Hardesty Smith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Henry Faust Jr., on April 3, 1968, and later by her second husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Richard C. Williams on April 27, 2018. She was also preceded in death by two stepsons, David Allen Williams and Thomas Benjamin Williams. Faye is survived by her loving family, including: • Her siblings, Joan Smith of Dickeyville, MD, and Robert Smith (Debbie) of Easton, MD, along with their son Adam and his wife Melissa of Henderson, who are expecting their first child later this year. • Her stepson Alvin R. Williams, his wife Rita, and their son Rick Williams and his wife Tresa of Colorado Springs, CO. • William Henry Faust III, his wife Joanne and their daughters Nicole, Megan, and Kristen. o Two grandsons-in-law, Joey Brown and CJ Marshall, and three great-grandchildren, Kiley Faust, Mason Brown, and Jacob Graham. • Michael R. Faust, his wife Stacey and their sons Christopher Northey, Corey Benedict, Cody Benedict, and Logan Faust. o Two granddaughters-in-law, Tabatha Benedict and Sidney Faust, and four great-grandchildren, Betty Morgan Jerome, Michael Jerome, Sofia Benedict, and Simon Foster Faust. • Children of David Allen Williams, Jannifer, Jan, and Jeffrey Williams and with his second wife Lynn he had stepdaughter Megan McFarland and their daughter Katie Williams Neal. Dave and Lynn had a total of 4 grandchildren. • Children of Thomas Benjamin Williams, Cortney Williams, Corwin Williams, and Andrew Davies. If you are totaling the family, it’s 5 children, 16 Grandchildren, and 11 Great grandchildren. That’s quite a legacy. A graduate of Goldie Beacom College in 1959, Faye dedicated many years to running the family business before shifting her focus to education, where she made a lasting impact on Queen Anne’s County Public Schools. She served on the Board of Education for 10 years, including multiple terms as President, where she tirelessly advocated for students, teachers, and the betterment of the school system. Faye was deeply devoted to her Sudlersville community, playing an active role in town affairs, where many lovingly referred to her as the "Unofficial Mayor." She was also a proud and engaged member of the Sudlersville High School Alumni Association, never missing an opportunity to connect with lifelong friends and classmates and DESAC for Queen Anne’s county. Faye was a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and commitment to her family, friends, and the community she held so dear. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 from 6-8pm at Fellows Family Funeral Home 370 Cypress St. Millington, MD 21651. Services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 12pm at Calvary Asbury United Methodist Church 103 N. Church St Sudlersville, MD 21668. Burial will follow the service at Sudlersville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company PO Box 61 Sudlersville, MD 21668, where her family has been involved for five generations.
