Eugene C. Elliott Sr.

Eugene C. Elliott of Ingleside, Maryland died on November 25, 2004 at Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown, Maryland. He was 43. Born in Dover, Delaware on October 28, 1961, he was the son of Virginia Elliott Green of Henderson, Maryland and the late Clifton A. Elliott, Jr. He was a 1979 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School where he was active with FFA. He went to work with his grandfather on the family’s farm in Ingleside, Maryland. After taking over the farming operation they became one of the first farms in the State of Maryland to convert to 100% organic farming, “Elliott Acres” is one of the largest certified Organic Farming Operation in Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties and they manage both livestock and grain operations. Mr. Elliott also worked with Milford Fertilizer and as a crop loss insurance adjuster with the federal government at one time. He married the former, Kellie Cosbey on November 1, 1997. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and Trinity United Methodist Church in Goldsboro, MD. He was a member and featured speaker on organic farming with Future Harvest and C.A.S.A. Mr. Elliott enjoyed attending farm and farm equipment auctions. He loved farming and lived to farm. He was also a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his eight year old son, Cole Cosbey Elliott, his six year old son, E.J. Elliott, Jr., and his four year old son, Dustin Carroll Elliott all living at home in Ingleside, MD; two sisters, Farren Elliott Jeeter and her husband, Ed and Faith Elliott Rossing and her husband, Pete all of Ingleside, MD; two nieces, Ashley Warren and Ashley Jeeter; a nephew, Caleb Rossing; two aunts, Pauline and Elsie Shockley of Townsend, DE, and a uncle, George Elliott of Goldsboro, MD Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, MD where relatives and friends may call on Monday evening, November 29, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Interment will be on the family farm. In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up for his children; contributions may be made to Eugene Elliott, Sr. Trust c/o Chestertown Bank of Maryland, P.O.
