E. Lynette King Bryan

Elizabeth Lynette King Bryan of Grasonville died on September 18, 2011. She was 97. Born on February 14, 1914 in Winchester (Grasonville), MD the daughter of the late William E. King and Drucilla Collier King. Mrs. Bryan attended Grasonville Elementary School and Stevensville High School. In 1930, she married Frederick Kirby Bryan of Grasonville, MD. They made their home in Grasonville where she raised her family. Mrs. Bryan was a homemaker but did work a few years at the Perfect Garment Co. and as a waitress at both the Islander restaurant in Stevensville and the Circle Rest in Chester. Mrs. Bryan was very involved in her church, Immanuel United Methodist Church in Grasonville, MD. She was a Sunday School Teacher, served on the administrative board of United Methodist Women and many other church functions. She enjoyed going on bus trips with friends and was a very active reader. She always had a lot of friends and always had a good rapport with young people. She is survived by one son, Charles Kirby Bryan of Grasonville, MD; three daughters, Drucilla Ann Tolson of Chester, MD, Janet Bryan Breeding of Stevensville, MD and Margaret Bryan Foster of Queen Anne, MD; ten grandchildren, Frederick Kirby Bryan II of Easton, MD, Charles David Bryan, James Statts Tolson, Jr. and Tracy Ruth of Centreville, MD, Randall Tolson of Centreville, MD, Charles T. Breeding, Jr. of Grasonville, MD, Christopher Bryan Breeding of Stevensville, MD, Lynn Foster Whitby of Queen Anne, MD, Lisa Foster Kearney of Ridgely, MD and Daniel Bryan Foster of Ridgely, MD; and sixteen great grandchildren. Lynette was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Kirby Bryan in 1987 and one son, Frederick Michael Bryan in 1943. She was also predeceased by six sisters, Dora King Collier, Edith King Baker, Estella King Gardner, Aubrey King Thompson, Annie King and Evelyn King Reese and two brothers, William Ernest King and Robert Curtis King. Funeral services will be held at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Grasonville, MD on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00 am. Friends and family may call at the church on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm.
