Eleanor Parramore

Eleanor Clark Parramore of Millington, MD, died on March 19, 2005, at Chester River Hospital Center in Chestertown, MD. She was 86. Born in Wilmington, DE, on December 31, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Veasey C. and Mildred Lovell Clark. She was a graduate of Ridley Park High School and attended Penn State University. She married Robert E. Parramore, Jr., in 1941 and started her family. She raised four children along with many foster children before furthering her education as the children grew older. Mrs. Parramore graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1965 and received her Masters Degree also in Education in 1967. She taught Home Economics at Ridley Park Junior High School in Ridley Park, PA. She retired in 1975 after she and her daughter purchased Duck Neck Camp Ground in Crumpton, MD. Mrs. Parramore moved to Crumpton in 1976, and, with her husband, and daughter''s family, operated the campground for the next 12 years. Mrs. Parramore also substituted as a home economics and masonry instructor with both Queen Anne’s County and Kent County Schools. She enjoyed painting, bible study, and was especially proud of crocheting as she made bonnets and blankets for newborns at Chester River Hospital Center and other area hospitals. Mrs. Parramore was a member of Busy Bees, various senior citizen groups, and Chestertown Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Parramore is survived by a daughter, Carol G. Taylor of Millington, MD; two sons, David C. Parramore of Claymont, DE and William T. Parramore, Sr. of Galena, MD; a brother, William Thomas Clark of Ridley Park, PA; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband and one son, Robert Parramore III. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2005, at noon at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, MD, where relatives and friends may call two hours prior to the service (10:00am-12:00 noon). Interment will be held in Crumpton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crumpton Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 68, Crumpton, MD 21628.
