Eleanor Lindeman St. Clair

Eleanor Lindeman St. Clair, of Jarrettsville, formerly of Easton, died at the North Ridge Medical Center, Pompano Beach, FL, on Saturday, March 2, 2002. She was 68. Born in Cordova, MD, September 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Louise Harmsen Lindeman. As a child, she moved to the Royal Oak, MD, area where she graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1951 and from where she received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1976. After attending and graduating from the Goldey-Beacom Business College in Wilmington, DE, she worked as a secretary for the FBI in Philadelphia for two years. She then returned to Easton where she began her banking career with the Easton National Bank, becoming the Executive Secretary to the Regional Vice-President and eventually a Loan Officer. Following her marriage on January 29,1978, to Charles W. St. Clair, she transferred to the Harford County offices of the Maryland National Bank. She served as a Commercial Loan Officer and Branch Manager, retiring in 1990 as a Vice-President of Maryland National Bank. She remained active in the family business, Jarrettsville Nurseries. While living in Talbot County, she was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Cordova. After moving to Jarrettsville, she was a member and, for many years, the Treasurer of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. A Board member of the Maryland 4-H Foundation, she also served on the Board of Directors of Sea Colony, Inc. in Pompano Beach, FL, where she and her husband enjoyed vacationing. Her hobbies included caring for her grandchildren, working with 4-H clubs, and traveling abroad. Survivors, in addition to her husband, are: two sons, G. Boyd Saulsbury of Street, MD, and Charles W. St. Clair, Jr. of Bel Air; two daughters, Patricia C. Wertman of Staunton, VA, and Lynda S. McRee of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren, Brandon C. Saulsbury, Thomas F. Nimmo, Kimberly M. St. Clair, Daniel T. McRee, Benjamin Black and Spencer Black; a great-granddaughter, Alexis M. St. Clair; and two uncles, Walter J. Harmsen of Easton, MD, and Richard G. Harmsen of St. Michaels, MD. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 9, at 11 A. M. at The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, Bel Air. Burial will be at the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Jarrettsville. Friends may call at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, MD, on Thursday, March 7, from 7 - 9 P.M. and at The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, Bel Air, on Friday, March 8th, from 7 - 9 P.M. and one hour prior to the service.
