Doris A. Heasley

Doris Hall Heasley, 54, of Kingsport, TN died on Friday, March 19, 2010 in Daytona Beach, FL. She was born in Dorchester General Hospital , Cambridge, Maryland on August 5, 1955, the daughter of Norris M. Hall and Harriette Dawson Hall. Doris was raised in the Church Hill Area of Queen Anne’s County where she attended Church Hill Elementary, Centreville Middle School and was a graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School, class of 1973. She was an active member of 4-H for 10 years, on the county, regional and state levels. She excelled at cooking and art. Doris loved music and was selected as a participant with the All-State Chorus, performing at the Lyric Theatre in Baltimore. Following her early interests and talents, her career was focused on her profession as a kitchen and bath designer. Through the years, Doris was employed by U.L. Harmon of Marydel, and Classic Kitchens in Kingsport, TN. Her favorite job was with Shore Lumber and Millwork in Centreville, MD where she established friendships with their staff and customers that made it seem like her second family. Most recently, she worked at Hagerstown Kitchens of Winchester, VA and at Direct Buy of Northeast Tennessee. She also had been on the staff at Blue Ridge Community College where she taught Kitchen and Bath Design. Doris is survived by her husband, Brian K. Heasley of Quicksburg, VA; her daughter, Lacey Ann Ferguson (fiancée Mackenzie Clark) of Johnson City, TN; her parents, Norris M. and Harriette Hall of Chestertown, MD; sister, Nancy Hall Coleman(husband Timothy) of Villa Rica, GA; brother, Curtis E. Hall (wife Cheryl) of Elkton, MD; half-sister Mary Lynn Cameron (husband Donald, Jr.) of Secretary, MD and maternal grandmother, Helen Dawson of Cambridge, MD; several nieces and nephews; and a special aunt and uncle Barbara Dunn (husband William) of Wilmington, DE. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Harry E. Dawson; paternal grandparents, Edith Hall Williams and Morgan Hall. Doris was an avid reader since childhood and was very fond of animals, especially her cat Charlie. She had a lifetime love for horses from her first pony, Misty, to her current horse, Bella. Her favorite pastime was trail-riding with Brian and her friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 3, 2010 at 11:00AM Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Rd. Chestertown, MD 21620, where the family will be received relatives and friends on Friday April 2, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made, In Doris’ memory, to Ashley, Inc., Mae Abraham Legacy Fund, 800 Tydings Lane, Havre de Grace, MD 21078. Father Martin’s Ashley is a private, non-profit, compassionate treatment center for alcoholism and drug addiction.
