Donna Frances Warner

Donna found peace with The Lord on April 12, 2022. She was born on November 24, 1948, to Joseph Franklin Grogan and Lorene Grogan (nee O’Dell), in Baltimore, Maryland. She is survived by three children: J. Harris Warner Jr. (wife Sonja), Jeffery Warner (wife Juliane), and Jenny Kaukonen (nee Daugherty) (husband Erik); two grandchildren Andrew Kaukonen and Julian Warner; one sister Diann Fugitt; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard Daugherty II, and her two brothers Gene and Gary Grogan. Donna graduated from Andover High School in Linthicum, Maryland, in 1966. After graduation, while raising her family, she pursued associate degrees in accounting and paralegal studies, training she used throughout her lifetime. Donna held a variety of jobs, with her most cherished being that of mother. She loved and cherished her children and was very proud of their successes in life. As an empty nester and proud member of MENSA, she achieved bachelor’s degrees in chemical dependency counseling, psychology, and history, graduating magna cum laude, and accumulating many other academic accolades along the way. Her plans were to pursue a Doctorate in psychology, and to write a book about the Civil War. Donna was a talented writer and poet. She wrote many beautiful poems for family and friends and had planned to compile her poetry works into a book. A long-time resident of Maryland, Donna had just recently relocated to Florida. She had long aspired to move there, as she loved the beach, the warmth, and the sunshine. She enjoyed sunbathing, which she did whenever she could. She also enjoyed reading, talking with friends, spending time with family, traveling, and playing word and card games on the computer. She was passionate in her Christian faith and in her desire to help others, often at great personal sacrifice. She was extremely generous with her time and talents. It is impossible to estimate the number of lives she touched throughout her life. She made many life-long friends with her outgoing manner. Donna’s absence has left a void in the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 12:00 pm at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home at 130 Speer Rd., Chestertown, MD. A one-hour visitation will be held prior from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. A reception gathering will be held after the service at the funeral home. Family and friends are welcome to come and celebrate the life of an unforgettable mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
