Donald Boyd Hinkle

Donald Boyd Hinkle, age 65, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Queenstown, Maryland. Born on May 18, 1960, in Silver Spring, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles Hinkle and Nancy (Goode) Hinkle. It was here that he learned the values of love, hard work and commitment that defined him in life. Don was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. To him these roles were his greatest accomplishment. He is survived by the love of his life, Tammy Hinkle, his wife of 45 years, his daughter Michelle Trimper and her children Madison Lily, Christopher Grant and Emma Rose, and his daughter Brittany and husband Bryan Bowring and their children Bristol Mae and Bryce Edward. Don is survived by his sister Sharon Porter and his brothers Charles and Steven Hinkle. Some of his best memories were hunting trips to West Virginia with his siblings and dearest friends spending time on the mountain. Don so loved his time in Ocean City with toes in the sand making memories with family. He never let an opportunity pass to be with those he loved no matter where or when. He was a patient, kindhearted soul that never met a stranger. He brought joy into every room he entered and created lasting friendships that stood the test of time. Don was a gentle man who brought smiles into the lives of others even in the face of a long and difficult illness. He was an inspiration to his family and all that knew him. Don found great joy in spending time with his family and friends and treasured each moment with them, especially in the simple joy of being present together. Though he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace, welcomed home into the presence of the Lord and into the loving arms of those that passed before him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Don’s service will be held on Friday, April 10th @ 11:00am at Samples Manor Cemetery 2128 Harper’s Ferry Road Sample’s Manor, MD 21782. Following the service there will be a celebration of Don's life at 2:30pm, held at The Harper’s Ferry Brewery 37412 Adventure Center Lane Purcellville, VA 20132.
