Clifton Cummings BETHLEHEM: Clifton Cummings, 69, of Bethlehem, MD, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2009. He was born on Tilghman Island and was the son of Andrew and Anna Rimmer Cummings. Cliff would have celebrated his 70th birthday on April 29, 2009. Mr. Cummings spent the early part of his life as a waterman. In 1967 he went to work for Bayshore Foods/Conagra and was employed with them for 27 years. Upon his retirement from Conagra he was hired by Talbot County Public Schools as a Support Staff Member at Chapel District Elementary School. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. In his spare time he could be found on his lawnmower cutting grass or sitting on his deck watching the birds. Cliff loved taking his grandsons fishing and was always eager to watch a ball game. He got a lot of pleasure going to Harrington Slots and just living a simple life. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Hall, whom he married on June 11, 1969. They made their home in Bethlehem. Also surviving are his children, Farley Cummings and his wife Estelle of Salisbury, Pamela Spalin and her husband Don of Easton, Curtis Cummings and his wife Laura of Preston, Jason Cummings of Harmony, Michael Marine and his wife Renee of Seaford, Robin Marine of Seaford, Kevin Marine of North Carolina and Keith Marine if Salisbury; twenty grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, Calvin Cummings and his wife Betty of Tilghman; sisters Sharon Hock and her husband Sonny of Tilghman and Sandra Ropchock and her husband Joe of Tilghman. He was preceded in death by his siblings Andrew, Franklin, Lula Mae, Francis and Harry. A memorial celebrating his life will be held on Sunday April 19, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Talbot Evangelistic Church on Ocean Gateway in Trappe, MD.
