Carol Sue Clark

Carol Sue Clark, 68, of St. Michaels, MD, died on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. Born on March 6, 1943 in Osceola, IA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Furnish, Sr. and Irene Siegfried Furnish. Mrs. Clark graduated from Easton High School and from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a BS degree in Education. She later obtained her Masters in Education from Salisbury University. She taught at Easton Middle School from 1961 – 1971 and also was a home teacher for Talbot County Public Schools. She was later employed for the State of Maryland at the Eastern Pre-Release Unit in Churchill from 1981-1991. She earned Correctional Teacher of the Year for Maryland in 1985. She was later a realtor for Lacaze Meredith Long and Foster on the Clark and Clark Team in Easton and St. Michaels from 1993 – 2011. She was past President of Business-to-Business (B2B), Talbot County. She was a member of Christ Church, St. Michaels Parish, where she was active in Stephen Ministry and the Altar Guild. She was a member of a friends’ bridge club and a friends’ book club. She was a past president of the St. Michaels Community Center, past secretary of the Talbot County Teachers Association, and was formerly active as a Sunday School Teacher with Christ Church in St. Michaels, as well as Easton Presbyterian Church where she was an organist. Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband of 41years, Roger E. Clark, of St. Michaels, whom she married in 1970; a son, Michael Clark, and his wife, Michelle, of Easton; a daughter, Jodie Clark, and her husband, Mark Pullinger, of Sheffield, England; a granddaughter, Alexis Clark; a grandson, Lane Clark, both of Easton; two nieces, Claudia Leister of Magnolia, DE, and Jackie Slater of Virginia Beach, VA; two nephews, Daniel Furnish of Katy, TX, and John Swing of Milford, CT; a brother-in-law, Jack Swing, of Easton; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Furnish of Milford, DE. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Furnish and Darrell Furnish; a sister, Lois Furnish; and a nephew, Michael Swing. A celebration of Carol Sue’s life will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Christ Church St. Michaels Parish. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Michaels Community Center, 103 Railroad Rd, St. Michaels, MD 21663.
