Bernard "Buster" Elburn

Bernard “Buster” Franklin Elburn of Rock Hall, MD died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Queen Anne’s Hospice House in Centreville, MD. He was 65. Bernard F. Elburn was born June 3, 1943 in Piney Neck the son of the late George Cleveland Elburn and Ellen “Cannon” Elburn. Mr. Elburn began school in Fairlee and then attended Chestertown High. Years later he took courses in animal husbandry at Cornell University. Mr. Elburn began working at a young age at the Toulchester amusement park. As an adult he worked as a self employed contractor and later in life as a waterman. Mr. Elburn was a member of the Chestertown Baptist Church and enjoyed attending as many church activities that he could participate in. He loved to fish, crab, oystering, hunting and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lena Marie Elburn, one brother, Steve Elburn, and three sisters, Madeline Howell, Dorothy Starkey, and Lorraine Copley. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Linda Colleen Elburn of Rock Hall, MD, four daughters, Donna Lynn Johnson of Church Hill, MD, Angela Lynn Elburn and boyfriend Bill Cording of Worton, MD, Kelley Van Ess and husband Chuck of Eden, MD, Lisa Twilley and husband Greg of Salisbury, MD, two sons, Bernard Franklin Elburn II and wife Joy of Millington, MD, Lonnie Kendall and girlfriend Cathy Naundorf of Fairlee, MD, one sister, Debbie Elburn of Rock Hall, MD, one brother, Bobby Elburn and wife Cindy of Millington, MD, ten grandchildren, Jenna Elburn and Laurie Elburn both of Millington, MD, Vicki Johnson and Amanda Johnson both of Church Hill, MD, Rachel Cording of Centreville, MD, Will Cording of West Palm Beach, FL, RD Van Ess of Eden, Carol Van Ess of Pocomoke, MD, Spencer Twilley and Cameron Twilley both of Salisbury, MD, and a beloved friend, Richard Rittenberry of Tolchester, MD. Services will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 1pm at the Chestertown Baptist Church in Chestertown, MD. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the church from 6-8 pm. Interment will be held in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Rock Hall, MD In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to the Queen Anne’s Hospice House, 255 Comet Drive Centreville, MD 21617
