Barbara Gale "Bobbie" Mayberry

Barbara Gale "Bobbie" Mayberry of Millington, MD, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2023, at Christiana Hospital after a fall at her residence in Millington. She was 76 Years old. Bobbie was born January 5, 1947, in Greene County, PA, to Allie Justice and John Hearle Hinkle. She received her high school diploma from Fontana Unified School District in Fontana, CA, on June 10, 1964. She married Keith Mayberry and together they had a daughter, Christy. The couple lived in Fontana for many years, where Bobbie worked in the insurance industry. She had a large extended family living in West Virginia and following her divorce, she moved back to the East Coast where she worked at Dukes Moore Insurance Agency in Chestertown, MD, for many years as a personal lines insurance agent. She was the first person to greet you when you walked in the door and always made her customers feel like part of the family. She was personable and could carry on a conversation with anyone that had a listening ear. Other than her favorite pastime of talking, she really liked going shopping or traveling someplace, anyplace because she loved to be on the road. She would always ask her beloved Curtis, "Are we going anywhere today?" She had a way about herself that made everyone feel like family. She was always welcoming and inviting, and she made sure that everyone felt included. She was the kind of person who would always remember your name, and she would always take the time to ask about your life. She will be remembered as a lighthearted free spirit who would go anywhere and make new friends. She was truly a special person and will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Christy, who was the love of her life. She is survived by her devoted partner, Curtis Simon of Millington, his children, Aaron Simon and Andrea Pennington; nephews, David Ruble, Terry Zacharias, and J.R. Borchers; two special nephews, Michael Ruble and David Ruble, Jr.; a special niece, Dallas Ruble; and one grandnephew, Alex Ruble. Services will be held at noon on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Fellows Family Funeral Home at 370 Cypress Street in Millington with a viewing two hours prior.
