Barbara Anne Frank

Barbara Slater Frank, of Stevensville Maryland went home to be with our Lord, Friday, December 1st, 2023. She was 81 years old. Born Barbara Anne Slater to Hubert and Vera Slater, on August 13th, 1942, in Providence Rhode Island. A 1960 graduate of East Providence High School, East Providence, R.I., Barbara went on to attend Ohio Wesleyan University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and earned her Bachelors in Elementary Education in 1964. Barbara’s charm and elegance shone as bright as her fiery red hair. Soon after graduating, she attracted the gaze of a young naval officer, LT JG Winn Beaudoin Frank, USNR. The pair fell deeply in love. Barbara married the love of her life on May 20, 1967. Barbara was a gifted teacher, touching the lives of students in East Providence, RI, Spring Branch, TX, and Glencoe, IL. Barbara stepped away from her career to focus on raising and caring for her expanding family. Winn’s career required extensive travel, Barbara faithfully cared for their home and two sons in his absence. Barbara was always involved in her local church communities. She especially loved singing soprano in the choir during the Easter and Christmas seasons. Barbara was a student of God’s word, and desperate to spread the gospel at every opportunity. She was actively involved with Bible Study Fellowship. A gracious hostess, Barbara welcomed all with a warm smile and engaging charm. Barbara was a gifted writer, poet, and painter. She pointed to Christ in all circumstances. Barbara loved her family fiercly and sought God’s glory in all she did. Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Winn Frank. Sons Christopher (Celynda) Frank, and Matthew (Heather) Frank. Grandchildren Mary (Ronnie) Cannon, Allyson Frank, Lauren Frank, Ethan Frank, Levi Frank, and Elianna Frank and great grandsons Wylon and Haddon Cannon. Please join us as we celebrate Barbara’s life. A life well lived. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Friday, December 15, at Fellows, Helfenbein, & Newman Funeral Home in Chester, MD. A funeral service will be held Saturday December 16th, 2023, at 2pm at Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church in Stevensville, MD. A private interment will be held at the veteran’s cemetery, Hurlock, MD.
