Anthony "Tony" Clifton Towers

Anthony (Tony) Clifton Towers, of Chestertown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Monday October 20, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on March 3, 1945, to the late Ralph Otis Towers and Harriet Anna (Gibson) Towers of Ridgely MD. Growing up, Tony worked on the family farm. He graduated from North Caroline High School and went on to serve in the Army National Guard Reserve for 6 years. In 1967 Tony moved to Grasonville, MD where he married and had twin daughters. During this time, he worked as a painter before becoming a waterman for several years, which he loved. Tony remarried in 1981 to his wife Donna and moved to Ridgely MD. He made many friends along the way and dedicated himself to living a Christian life. He then went to work at United Shellfish doing various jobs for them for many years until he retired in 1998. Job titles included sales, truck driver, mechanic and maintenance. But no matter what role Tony was in, he did it to the best of his ability. He would always say jokingly, “Jack of all trades, master of none!” Tony and Donna later moved to Lake Wales Florida, and he worked part time at Greenlefe Golf Course as a ground’s keeper and maintenance worker. Of course, he loved the perks of free golf. More recently, Tony moved back to Maryland to be closer to his family. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and working with him loved him. Tony was such a genuine, caring, thoughtful man and would do anything for anyone if needed. Tony enjoyed hobbies like helping at his church, playing golf, watching Nascar races and Football, but most of all he loved his family and the Lord. Tony is survived by his brothers, Jim Towers (Donna), Rusty Towers (Editha), his daughters Laurie Forsyth (Jamie), Angie Buellis (Chuck), and Kelly Towers. He is also survived by, and a proud grandfather to 5 grandchildren, Jacob Jones, Bradley Forsyth (Isabelle), William Latham, Carmella Towers, Christian Towers, a great grandson Julian Forsyth, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Tony is preceded in death by his wife Donna and Sister Diane Wojcik. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Chestertown Seventh-Day Adventist Church 305 N Kent St Chestertown, MD 21620. A service will be held Sunday November 9, 2025 at 3 at Tony’s church at 305 N Kent Street Chestertown, MD where friends and family may gather one hour prior from 2pm until 3 pm.
