Margaret Wagner Frampton

Margaret (Peggy) Wagner Frampton passed away peacefully at Talbot Hospice House on Friday, August 23, 2024. She was 92. She was born in Easton on September 21, 1931 to John G. Wagner, Jr. and Irene Mansfield Wagner. The family moved to Harrisonburg, Va. in 1935. Peggy graduated from Harrisonburg High School in 1949. After graduation, she returned to Easton and worked as a secretary at the law office of John-Clarence North. She then worked for Maryland Credit Finance Corp. Following her marriage to James Caulk Frampton on March 31, 1951, they were blessed with the birth of two children, Edward and Mary. She was employed by the USDA Grading Office in Easton and retired after 30 years. She then volunteered as administrative assistant at Talbot Hospice, at the front door and kept records and sent letters of condolence to the bereaved. After her husband’s death on December 19, 2012, she continued to volunteer at Hospice until 2020. She is survived by her son Edward of Ocean City, daughter Mary (Ron) McCarty, grandchildren Melissa (Dr. Erik) Higginbottom and Sarah (Kenneth) Kusinitz, four great-grandchildren, Grant and Chad Higginbottom and Rebecca and Evelyn Kusinitz, all of Easton. She is also survived by her brother Phillip L. Wagner and sister Elizabeth Evans, both of Virginia, and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by brothers John R., Dr. Thomas E., G. Albert, and Kenneth E. Wagner. Active in her church, Trappe United Methodist, she was Memorial Fund treasurer for over 30 years. She was also treasurer for Eastern Shore Threshermen for 34 years, retiring June 1, 2024. She and Jim enjoyed traveling with the Bay Country Region chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America and Chesapeake Bay Model T Club. She served as newsletter editor for both organizations. She was a charter member of Carroll’s Addition Homemakers Club, serving in several positions. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word find, and watching “Jeopardy!” A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Trappe United Methodist Church.
