Lee Edward Leyden

Lee Edward Leyden, 36, of Easton, MD, passed away Oct. 12, 2017. Lee was born in Stamford, CT, on January 18, 1981, to S. Lee Leyden and Mary Garrison Leyden. He spent his early childhood in Bethel, CT, where he spent hours playing outside with his sister, Jill, and family dog, Charlie. It is here where he developed a love for physical fitness, and playing and watching football. Lee kept in touch with his friends from Bethel, and they remained a positive aspect of Lee’s life. After moving to Easton in 1994, Lee continued to play football in middle school where he developed friendships he maintained for many years. Lee attended Easton High School where he played football and wrestled. He became a skilled roofer and craftsman, working in the area for nearly 20 years. Lee’s coworkers always appreciated the energy and humor he brought on the job with him. Lee was always very proud of his work and professional skills. His handiwork can be seen all the way from Talbot Country to areas of Virginia. Lee’s enthusiasm for physical fitness inspired others. An avid Ravens fan, Lee loved watching his favorite team along with friends and family. One could count on Lee for a funny joke or story any time. Some of his most precious memories include building a shed in his parent’s backyard with his father and keeping in touch with his wide network of friends on social media. Throughout his life, Lee supported others during their difficult times. His empathy and compassion were a source of strength for them. Lee grew up with a large, loving family from Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Virginia, and Arizona. He was fortunate to spend time with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a niece and nephew. Throughout his life, he cherished those times and appreciated the love he felt from his entire family. He is survived by his parents, sister Jill, son Troy, and grandmother, Helen Leyden. Visitation is Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 S. Harrison St., Easton, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 1210 S. Washington St. in Easton. His family welcomes all who knew Lee to come celebrate his life together.
