Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home is the combination of three family firms in order to keep the same values and traditions that each family has brought to funeral excellence over the years. The history of the Chestertown Funeral Home begins with the Good Funeral Home, which became the Wells Funeral Home and, later, the Fellows Funeral Home. The Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam families joined together in 1996 to form the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home. Through the combination of three family funeral homes it has brought an increased level of excellence recognized both locally and nationally. Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home strive to fulfill their mission statement of Bringing Traditions from the Past, Embracing them with Values from the Present, and Leading the Way into the Future to bring our families the best in complete funeral service.

All of us at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home have been taken aback by the heartwarming support the community has offered since we suffered the devastating fire early last Saturday morning.
As one community leader told me "you guys have always done so much for us, now we get to return the favor. You would have done the same thing for us." – It reminds us that this is our community at its best. We come to aid one another when we need it most. While our family does this every day, for families in need, it is quite an experience to be on the receiving end of such an outpouring of goodwill and support.
We will remodel. And we'll be back with a building that the whole community can continue to be proud of. In the meantime, we'll continue our 24 hour a day, 7 day a week commitment to our community. Our telephones are answered immediately, and we've made arrangements to conduct services in our Rock Hall, Centreville, and Millington Funeral Home or one of the many churches that have graciously opened their doors to us.
You honor us with your expressions of concern and support offered to us at this difficult time. Our commitment is to remain in Chestertown and return the favor for decades to come.
