Thomas Charles Kovach

February 23, 1947 - October 18, 2021

Thomas Kovach passed away October 18, 2021 in Chestertown, Maryland. He was the son of the late Chuck and Gail Kovach of Akron, Ohio. Tom was a graduate of Archbishop Hoban High school class of 1966 and attended the University of Akron. In his younger days Tom played many sports and especially continued to enjoy fishing and golfing later in life. Moving to be closer with family on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, he was excited about all of the nearby water and fishing possibilities. Tom had many close, lifelong friends and enjoyed staying in touch after relocating to Maryland. Retiring in 2010, Tom enjoyed a long career working for First Energy in Cuyahoga Falls. He leaves behind daughter Tina and granddaughter Amanda DiGiacomo of California, sister Linda Schmidt of Centreville, nephews Timothy [Julia] Schmidt of Washington, DC, Patrick [Maggie] Schmidt of Chestertown, MD, and five nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in November. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
