Nancy Lee Roe

March 29, 1953 - March 2, 2022

Nancy Lee Roe of Goldsboro, MD passed away on March 2, 2022, at Bayhealth hospital in Dover, DE. She was 68. Born on March 29, 1953 in Chestertown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Bowen “Jack” and Georgia Stowman Starkey. She graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School class of 1971. She spent the early part of her career as a CNA working in various nursing and private homes on the shore. She then dedicated 27 years of service to Queen Anne’s County working for the Parks & Recreation Department and the Department of Social Services. Nancy loved traveling and looked forward to the many trips to the casinos with her sister Linda. She enjoyed camping at Lake Bonnie where she formed a life-long friendship with her dear friend, Gail Butler. She loved her fur babies, Bella and Lucy and her children and grandchildren’s animals as well, often bringing treats when she visited. Nancy was known throughout her family and friends for her famous chicken salad. Nancy is survived by her husband of 49 years and the love of her life Ronald “Buddy” Roe of Goldsboro, MD; children: Lisa Barney (William); Ronny Roe (Kathy); Samuel Roe (Karen); Laura Johnson (Jim); Buddy Roe (Chrissy); fifteen grandchildren: Nicole, Wayne, Brooke, Karen, Shawn, Brent, Josh, Amber, Taylor, Joey, Randi, Danielle, LaQue, Tia, Patricia and twelve great grandchildren; sister Linda Gustafson (Lee); brother Charles Starkey. She was predeceased by her sister Loretta Reynolds, brother Edward Starkey, and grandsons Brandon Roe and Jahlil Hunter. Services will be private.
