Michele Schweikle

Michele Spahn Schweikle, age 78, died on Dec 26, 2021, at her home in Chestertown, MD. Michele Schweikle was born on October 18,1943 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Michele worked at Baker McKenzie law firm in Washington,D.C., for most of her career, and eventually moved to the Baker McKenzie office in Chicago as the Office Manager. Michele retired in 2005, and Michele and Carl moved to Chestertown, Maryland to begin their retired life. In Chestertown, Michele was a socially active person who was involved in many activities and organizations. She was especially active in the Chestertown Garden Club and the Lambert Wickes Questers. Michele was a dog lover and always had a loyal dog at her side, most recently, Eli, a full-sized poodle. Michele is survived by her brother, Kelly Spahn, of Washington, DC; her cousins Carmen Zirles, of Dexter, Michigan; and Nicola Jancsik of Hagerstown, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Joseph Schweikle; her parents George Spahn and Dorian Spahn, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and Rockville, Maryland; her Aunt, Austine Zirles and Uncle, Charles Zirles of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A viewing is scheduled for 11:00am to Noon on Monday January 3, 2021 at at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Chestertown with a service to follow at Noon. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Michele’s life. A light lunch will be served at the funeral home after the service. Michele will be laid to rest next to her husband, Carl, at a later date at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
