Joyce Anne Miller
March 18, 1946 - February 20, 2022
Joyce Anne Miller passed away peacefully on the morning of Feb. 20, 2022, at Chester River Manor in Chestertown, Maryland. Her son was at her bedside when her spirit slipped into the ether. She is at rest now and joins her beloved husband Dr. Louis W. Miller in eternity. Joyce, or Juicy as her father dubbed her, had a vibrant and joyful life. She was a nurse and then nurse practitioner, a breeder of championship Weimaraners, a tennis, yoga and jogging enthusiast in her younger days, a restauranteur, and always an extravagant hostess. She was a gifted chef who delighted in serving cuisine from Mexico, India, France, and, of course, Italy. Her friends and family cherish their memories of her entertaining at the family home, a.k.a. Gela Farm, in Stevenson, Maryland, where she frequently hosted lavish affairs or cooked a feast for whoever was on hand. Joyce made her home a destination for family and friends, and she always had extra rooms for anyone who needed a place to stay or a place to call home. She will be greatly missed. Joyce is survived by her children, Steven A. Miller and Adena Miller Sherpa; her daughter-in-law, Nicoletta Miller; her brother Bob Brown; sisters-in-law Karen Brown and Carla Brown-Phillipy; her grandchildren, Kungzang, Jozef, Franny, Sabrine and Henry Max; and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Louis W. Miller; her father and mother, Thomas Early Brown Sr. and Mary Virginia Brown née Anello; and her brother, Thomas Early Brown Jr.
