Joyce Ann George Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joyce Ann George of Millington, MD passed away Sat. Jan. 8, 2022, at Laurel Medical Center in Laurel, MD. She was 80 years old. Joyce A. George was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Barclay, MD the daughter of the late Roy and Blanche Thompson. Joyce married her husband of 63 years, Niles Allen George Sr. on Feb. 1, 1958, and the two began their life together. Joyce and Niles made their home in Millington and the two opened and ran the 3 G market for a few years. After closing the market Joyce spent most of her adult life as a homemaker taking care of and raising her family. Family always came first to Joyce, and over the years she also took care of her parents and inlaws. She loved spending time with her sisters, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to laugh and have a good time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife and mother and always reinforced her love for her family. She enjoyed watching her stories and in her earlier years enjoyed playing softball with her son. She attended Busic Church and Ladies Aid Meetings. Joyce and her husband worked many hours in their garden and together they canned many vegetables. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in laws, Susabelle and Francis George, three brothers, William Thompson, Leroy Thompson, Alan Benne_ Thompson and two sisters, Doris Newsome and Delores Connolly. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Niles Allen George Sr. of Millington, MD., two daughters, Doris Ann Bramble (Thomas Wheat) of Millington, MD, Roxanne George of Millington, MD, one son, Niles Allen George Jr. (Margie Meekins) of Millington, MD, two sisters, Charlotte “Chi” Davis of Millington, MD, Elsie Pippin of South Carolina, two grandchildren, Gerald Bramble III (Kate) of Millington, MD and Bridget Byrne (Michael), two great grandchildren, Kirsten Hunter and Khloe Hunter both of Sudlersville, MD, her cousins and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Monday, Jan 17, 2022, from 10am – 11am at Fellows Family Funeral Home 370 Cypress St. Millington, MD, Services will begin at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be private for family following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Millington Fire Co. at P.O. Box 255 Millington, MD 21651
