Jesse Randolf Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jesse R. Smith passed away on May 21, 2022, at his home in Felton, DE. He was 60 years old. Jesse was born on October 9, 1961, in Miami FL, the youngest of six children. He was the son of the late Hugo Smith and Evelyn Proveaux Smith. Jesse attended schools in Miami, FL and earned his degree in Diesel Mechanics and received his CDL License. In 1996, he met the love of his life, Diane Cronce while working as a mechanic for the Florida Department of Transportation. The two were married on April 15, 1995, in Opa Locka, FL. They then traveled together while he was a truck driver. In 1998, they moved to Maryland. During that time, he was employed as a truck driver and mechanic for various companies. In later years, they moved to Delaware, where he worked at Republic Services as a diesel mechanic for eight years, until he retired for health reasons. Jesse had a great love for family, Harley Davidsons, and truck driving. He also enjoyed Muscle Cars and Collectibles. Jesse is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diane Smith; a sister, Elizabeth Smith of South Carolina; brothers, Tommy Smith of Tennessee and James Smith (Daira), of Florida; sons, Kyle Smith of Georgia, Chris Geras (Jackie) and Glen Geras, both of MD; his grandchildren: Kimberly Cahall (Matt), Christopher Brown, Brandon Geras, Savannah Geras, and Eden Garcia; two great granddaughters, Alyssa and Kayden O'Callaghan, all of MD: as well as many nieces and nephews In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son and a daughter: Shawn and Shannon, and two brothers: Joel Smith and Jerry Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Services will be private.
