Jeffrey Scott Duty

September 7, 1969 - October 19, 2021

Jeffrey Scott Duty, 52 years of age, passed on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Scott Duty was Born September 7th, 1969, in Jacksonville, FL. to the late William H. Duty Jr. and Betty Sue Duty. He was the youngest of seven children. One preceded his death Michael Hayes Duty. His surviving siblings - Marybeth Young and her husband Donald L. Young, William H. Duty 3rd “Butch” and wife Janice Duty, John Duty Sr. and wife Jeannie Tull Duty, Carol Duty McGraw, and James Christopher Duty. Nephew’s and Niece’s - Cory Kaufman, William “BJ” Duty, Jessica Duty Engle, John Duty Jr., Amber Duty, Jordan McGraw, MacKenzie McGraw, and Leah Duty. He is also survived by his cherished godson Bryan Aaron Cothran-Draper, goddaughters Hanna Marie Lewis, Symone Parker and his dog Jack Milo Duty. He was educated in the Queen Anne’s County School system, and he attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County and University of Maryland University College. He began his career 24 years ago in Sales Automation Technology. Before starting his company Sales Technology Solutions LLC., six years ago. He was the Director of Sales Information Technology for eight years with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC. Scott Duty had away with many words and a few favorite things. He loved traveling, his late dog Zeus, and his friends and family. Among his favorite places to travel were New Orleans and New York. He was not the kind of man to sit still. Scott brought an incredible light to many moments; he cared and showed his love in an often-witty manner. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor will be remembered. Friends and family are invited to gather at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home located at 106 Shamrock Road Chester, Maryland 21619, on Monday, November 15th, Visitation is between 1 pm – 3 pm, where a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 pm. The service will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person. In lieu of flowers contributions in Scott’s name can be made to Kent Island Volunteer Fire Dept. at 1610 Main St. Chester, MD 21619, or The Queen Anne’s County Watermen’s Association at 120 Speer Rd. Ste 1, Chestertown, MD 21620.
