Mr. James S. Tolson, Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James (“Jimmy”) Staats Tolson, Sr., passed away on October 5, 2020 in Centreville, he was 90 years old. He was born on November 27, 1929 in Centreville, MD the son of the late Edmond and Isabel Bamberger Tolson. Jimmy has been a lifelong resident of Kent Island. He enjoyed traveling, camping, working in his garden and playing cards with friends and family. Jimmy enjoyed gathering around a table with the entire family for a home cooked meal, this was pure pleasure for him. He enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles in his retirement years. Jimmy adored his grand-children and great grand-children. He worked on his family farm for many years until he began working for Annapolis Utilities until retirement. In addition to his parents, Jimmy is predeceased by his brothers; Edmond, Wrightson, Robert and Buddy, his sister-in-law’s; Virginia, Eunice, Betty and Marlene and two great grand-children, Sydney and Kameron Wheaton. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 62 years; Drucilla Ann Tolson, his children; James Tolson Jr., Centreville, MD; Tracy (Tim) Ruth, Centreville, MD; Randy (Gail) Tolson, Centreville, MD; 5 grandchildren James (“Robbie”) Tolson (Megan) of Centreville, MD; Michael Ruth (Cora) of Centreville, MD; Kristen Wheaton (Jeff) of Centreville, MD; Randy Tolson, Jr of Ridgely, MD; Colby Tolson of Centreville, MD; 6 great grandchildren; his brother Frank; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, Queenstown, Maryland, on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., a service will follow at 12:00. Burial will be at the Kingsley Cemetery, Chester, Maryland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 7113 Maryland Avenue, Queenstown, MD 21658.
