Gerald Matthew Foulkes
December 19, 1975 - January 19, 2022
Gerald Matthew Foulkes of Centreville, MD, passed away suddenly on January 19, 2022. He was 46 years young. He was the son of Gerald “Guy” Foulkes of Mantua, NJ and Linda Cook Dean of Wilmington, DE. Gerald was born on December 19, 1975 in Woodberry, NJ. Gerald grew up in Gibbstown, NJ. His mother could share many stories of Gerald’s boyhood that involve close calls and ornery mischiefs. This did not last, however, as Gerald was well known by all for his gentle compassion and kindness. Gerald shared a special bond with his “big sis,” Robin, and loved the attention he received from her and her friends while growing up. He graduated from Clearview Regional High School in 1994 and studied Small Engine Repair at Gloucester County Institute of Technology. Gerald was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles football team. He took pride in his commitment to serve his local Fire Departments. He enjoyed watching car restoration shows and reading books; Of Mice and Men being his all-time favorite. Gerald had a passion for photography and happily captured memories of family events. He has worked various jobs, always making others smile along the way. Most recently, he was a healthcare worker at Complete Care Corsica Hills and Queenstown Landing. He had a gift for caring for others along with four-legged friends, especially his puppy, Miley. He loved spending time with family and was affectionately known as, “G-man.” Most of all, Gerald adored his “beautiful bride,” as he would often say. He and wife, Lacey, just recently shared their dream wedding last August, a memory to treasure. In addition to his parents, Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Lacey Prickett; sister, Robin Perry Jordan (Jimmy); nieces, Shannon and Casey Jordan; sister-in-law’s, Angie Smith (Brian), Cheryl Schrader (Bradley) and Jessica Sheubrooks (Jason); father-in-law, Tommy Prickett and several nieces and nephews. To honor Gerald’s legacy, simply live like Gerald. Be kind. Give compassion. Help others. Above all, love. Gerald’s family and friends will forever be grateful for his unconditional love. A celebration of life service will be held privately by his family. Memorial contributions in Gerald’s honor can be made to support the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association, PO Box 97075, Washington, DC 20090-7075. Therefore, you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. John 16:22
