Name: Albert Leroy Weber Date: August 1st, 1931 - July 29th, 2010 Obituary: Rev. Albert “Gus” L. Weber of Stevensville, MD died on July 29, 2010 at his home. He was 78. Born August 1, 1931 in Cumberland, MD,he was the son of the late Arthur and Louise Davis Weber. Rev. Weber graduated from Fort Hill High School, Cumberland, MD, class of 1950. He attended Gettysburg College (class of 1954) and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (class of 1958). He was ordained to ministry on May 28, 1958. Rev. Weber was assistant Minister of First Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, PA from 1958- 1959. His first congregation was St. Johns on Pimlico Road, Baltimore, MD (1959 – 1964). In 1964 he was called to the ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Bethesda, MD until 1980. Rev. Weber then went to become an Interim minister serving three churches in Darnstown, MD, and Gaithersburg, MD. He returned to his home town of Cumberland, MD to serve as interim minister at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (1981 – 1982). In 1982, he was called by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) as a Mission Developer, and established the congregation of Holy Communion Lutheran Church in Fallston, MD (1982 – 1990). In 1990, Rev. Weber and his wife retired to Ocean Pines, MD, where he assisted in ministry at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church until 2005. He and his wife later moved to Stevensville, MD. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Weber; and three daughters: Kathy Trotter (and her husband Don), Margie Reilly (and her husband Patrick), and Laurie Rickett (and her husband Paul); Two Grandchildren, Christopher and Elliott Reilly. A memorial service will be held on August 18, 2010 at 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11200 Old Georgetown Road, North Bethesda, MD 20852.
