Obituary:
Donald Aldridge Horney, Sr. of Queenstown, MD died at the Memorial Hospital, Easton, MD on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. He was 72.

Born in Grasonville, MD on October 13, 1937, he was the son of the late, Harold Aldridge and Sadie Mae Thomas Horney. He graduated from the Centreville High School in 1956 and while attending school he worked as a gas station attendant. He then worked for Aspen Tree Company and in 1957 he began working for Renshaw and Emory’s Farm Equipment Company in Centreville as a mechanic. Later he worked for Roser’s Auto Dealers in Queenstown, MD. In 1968 he began clamming, oystering and crabbing with a troutline for which he continued for over 20 years. In 1995 he went to work for Harrison’s Yacht Sales and later for Full Tilt Marine. On July 6, 1957 he married the former, Josephine Virginia Jenkins, his high school sweetheart.

He was a past member of the Queenstown Volunteer Fire Company and the Bay Country Moose.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Horney is survived by a daughter, Donna Lee Masten of Queen Anne, MD; two sons, Donald A. Horney of Easton, MD and Randy H. Horney of Chestertown, MD; a brother, Ronald H. Horney of Wye Mills, MD; ten grandchildren, Joel Masten, Jordon Masten, Jared Masten and Julie Masten, all of Queen Anne, MD, Patrick Horney and Christopher Horney and Alicia Horney, all of Easton, MD, Randi Lynn Horney of TN, Britney Jo Horney and Jake A. Fluharty of Tilghman Island, MD; four great-grandchildren, Nathan Masten, Kailey Masten, randi Fluharty and Ashtny Linder. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jessie Elliott Horney and Larry Edmond Horney.

Funeral services will be held at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A., Centreville, MD on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Friends may call on Monday, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton, MD.
