Obituary:
Lois Marie Dillon-Covas went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the age of 91. She is survived by two daughters, Tamara Sacco of Manchester, GA, Margaret Langello of Arnold, MD, 9 grandchildren: Christine Gartrell, Linda D’Angelo, David Klotz, Mark Klotz, Shawn Klotz, Lisa Black, Tony Langello, Michael Sacco, and Angela Sacco Mann; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is predeceased by her daughter, MaryLou Klotz and her grandson, Matthew Devon Cloud.

Born in Washington, D.C. in 1919, she was the only daughter of three children born to Merton and Bertha Alexander Oliver. A quick student, she graduated three years ahead of her peers.

During the World War II era, she traveled extensively with her husband and lived in many states throughout the U.S. Eventually, she settled in Hamilton, Ohio. During the many years she lived in Hamilton, she was very active in her church. She was several times president of the Trinity Episcopal Women’s Club, was the first woman to serve on the church’s vestry board and later became the church secretary. She became a member of Toastmistress Club, opened her own cosmetic store business and began her hobby of collecting antiques and china.

After having been widowed, Lois retired to Tampa, Florida in 1974. She spent many happy years in Tampa where she continued to collect and study antiques. She became interested in and acquired many tropical birds, engaged in ballroom dancing, made many friends and enjoyed playing cards on a weekly basis. She was a faithful member of the Town and Country Nazarene Church where she found many opportunities to serve. She was married to the late John M. Covas in 1984, who preceded her in death in 1988.

Due to ill health, Lois left her beloved Florida home in 2003 and resided with her daughters, alternately until the time of her death. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who wish to do so make a memorial contribution to the charity of their choice. Online condolences may be made at www.fhnfuneralhome.com
