Name: Joyce Eloise Conover Date: January 1st, 1942 - July 21st, 2010 Obituary: Joyce Eloise Conover of Barclay, MD died on Wednesday July 21, 2010 at the Hospice Center of Queen Anne’s. She was 68. She was born in Camden, NJ on January 1, 1942, daughter of the late, Louis and Jeanette (Jones) Hickson. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Marydel, and a former member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. Mrs. Conover worked on the family farm for many years and was a secretary for the Queen Anne’s County Board of Education. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing in her early years, camping and singing. She also enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and cooking. Mrs. Conover loved her family, her children, grandchildren and sisters always came first. In addition to her husband, Theodore Conover, Sr., she is survived by her children, Joyce Kline and her husband, Jim of Barclay, MD, W. Scott Conover of Millington, MD and Theodore “Teddy” Conover of Barclay, MD; sisters, Sue Alcott of Gloucester, NJ, Louise Fowler also of Gloucester, NJ and Lynn Verlander of Atlanta, GA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Christa Conover, J.C. Kline and Josie Kline, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 28 at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Marydel, MD where friends and family may call from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of Queen Anne’s, 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
