I worked with Mike at Queenstown Bank and was always glad to see him come through the door. His smile would light up the room and he always had something to say that would make me smile too. What a gift to have to be able to make someone smile. Mike touched many people with his smile, but touched many more with his courage and determination in his fight against such a formidable adversary. My deepest sympathies go out to all of Mike's family and his many friends.

I just wanted to let you know that we have you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. His Journey's Just Begun By Ellen Brenneman Don't think of him as gone away-- his journey's just begun life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched... for nothing loved is ever lost-- and he was loved so much.

I am so grateful that the Good Lord gave me the opportunity to have Michael in my life if only for a short few years. He made me laugh sometimes to tears and he was a great distraction when we were bored or feeling down. He was always willing to help at anytime with any situation. There are no words to help with your pain and emptiness only the thought that Michael was one of the BEST human being's I have ever known. There are a few questions I have for God when it is my time and losing Michael at such a young age is diffently one of them. He will be thought of often by my family and missed however, I know no where near as much as with his family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless The Xander Family

Pat, Glenn, Chris, Melissa and Laura: I'm sorry Jennifer and I did not find out about the service in time, but our prayers have been with you all for a while now and will continue to be. All the wonderful words here about what a fine gentleman Michael was in his short time sum it up. Michael was a blessing to your family and all who knew him, but he had a special loving family to start that light shining. From when I in moved next door a single guy to when I moved with my own wife and first son, I was blessed to be your neighbor. Since we moved some 8 years ago, I wasn't able to see Michael mature into the fine man he was, but all these moving tributes leave no doubt how well he did. It certainly doesn't seem fair when those, like Michael, who gave so much are taken from us. But God has a way of making us better people in the process. We have another saint in Heaven to help us along the way! May God grant you all peace in this very difficult time, Brian

Just heard about Michael's passing. Sharon (my nurse who helped with Michael's care) and I have been kept updated by Hopkins re his treatments and progress. He put up a great fight and am glad he was able to marry Melissa before his melanoma got the better of him. I'm so sorry I had to be the one to tell he and you his diagnosis - it for me is the hardest part of being a physician. God take care of Michael and bless all of you.
